Teaching in a Church School

Old Bexley CE Primary School is within the Diocese of Rochester. As a Church of England school, Old Bexley is both distinctive and inclusive. This means that while Old Bexley CE Primary School is distinctively Christian, it is open to and inclusive of those of other faiths, or no faith. Outstanding RE teaching comes from the Rochester Diocese Agreed Syllabus which is underpinned by the Understanding Christianity Scheme of Work.

You do not have to be a Christian to teach in this school, although staff members are expected to fully respect the school's Christian ethos.

Staff in this school benefit from high quality continued professional development through courses and staff meetings both in school and Trust wide.

The Christian commitment that all should flourish, extends beyond the pupils in the classrooms to the staff and every member of the wider school community.

We endeavour to lead our life as exemplified by the Fruit of the Spirit:

Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Goodness, Kindness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control
